If you read the small print it says not to use Traumeel on open wounds. However I have found there to be a few exceptions to this.
Homeopathic Remedies for Use on Open Wounds
Firstly, if you are familiar with Homeopathic remedies – Calendula and Hypericum are recommended for use on open wounds. Also Hypercal, which is a combination remedy containing calendula and hypericum is recommended for use on open wounds.
Traumeel contains calendula and hypericum aswell as Arnica which is not recommended for use on open wounds. So there is some possible contradiction here.
What I have outlined below is what I have found and experienced as a practitioner, so this is purely my thoughts.
The Size of the Injury
Depending on the injury and how big/small it is, will depend whether I will use Traumeel on an open wound.
Small Open Wounds
If I have a small open wound injury I will use Traumeel directly on the injury. It might well sting when you first put it on but very quickly this stops and it is very soothing & I have found it to be very beneficial.
So I have no problem using it on small open wounds.
Large Open Wounds
When we have had large open wounds I will first use Manuka Honey 10+ honey and apply it directly onto the wound and then dress the area.
Later on as the injury begins to heal and new tissue is formed I will then mix the Traumeel OIntment with theManuka Honey 10+.
By mixing the Traumeel Gel or Cream with the Manuka honey it does not sting and I have found it very beneficial with the ongoing healing of open wounds.
The honey has huge healing properties and prevents the open wound from drying up. After applying the Traumeel and Manuka Honey 10+ the best thing to do is to cover the injury with a non-stick dressing and then bandage it.
Our Experience
Although one hopes never to have injuries I have found the above solutions has enabled me to dress and treat some serioius injuries, whether human or animal with outstanding success.
So in my experience you can use Traumeel on small open wounds. Then on larger open wounds I have had outstanding success with using Manuka honey, dressing the wound and then as new tissue forms adding Traumeel to the Manuka honey.
